The Cabinet Refinishing Process from Cabinet Coatings in Phoenix, Glendale, Mesa, and the Greater Arizona Area

Wooden Cabinet in luxury kitchen - Kitchen in Phoenix, AZ
We designed our cabinet coating process to be as hassle-free as possible, keeping things clean and finishing the job in a timely manner so you can get back to your life and enjoy your new kitchen. In fact, the average time it takes to complete the entire process is a mere week or less… and only about a third or less of that time is spent in your home. The rest is done in our state-of-the-art finishing facility so your life can go on as usual.

Here is a glimpse of what you can expect:

Step One: Free Consultation

It all starts with a free consultation in the comfort of your home. We listen to what you have in mind, offer you options specific to your kitchen, and help define what would help make your dream kitchen a reality. You'll be able to see and feel samples of the work we do. After measuring your space and discussing options, you'll receive a quote…usually before we walk out the door.

Step Two: Preparation

On day one of the renovation, we remove all the cabinet doors and drawers and wash and prep your cabinet boxes. It's a short process that often takes a couple hours or less. We take the doors with us to our workshop and leave your kitchen clean and tidy. Unlike many renovation projects, you can still use your kitchen throughout much of the process. No need to find a hotel or eat out every night!

Step Three: Applying The Coating

We come to your home to coat both the inside and outside of your cabinet boxes with our ultra-durable, furniture-grade finish. Before we get started, we pay careful attention to taping off all areas of the kitchen that are not getting coated…things like appliances and flooring. We also seal off the doorways so we disturb you as little as possible.
The refinishing and coating process in your home takes about a day. Meanwhile, at our workshop, your cabinet doors are going through the coating process as well. Using our high-tech spray booth, we are able to ensure that your doors receive a smooth, flawless finish. This spray process is typically done on an as needed basis.

Step Four: Putting It All Together

After the finish has had enough time to dry, we make one more trip to your home to install the drawers and doors and do any final touch ups. For those adding new doors, we also replace your old hinges with new European “hidden hinges”, which are much more functional and do not show when the doors are closed. After making sure all your doors are aligned and your hardware is in place, we go through every cabinet to make sure there are no last minute touch ups or adjustments.

Step Five: Unveiling The New Kitchen

When we show our clients their new kitchen, they are amazed by the transformation. The greatest part of our job is watching our clients see their dream kitchen come to life. A happy client is the best reward. To read what some of clients have said, please click here.
